THE ROLE OF THE ITALIAN COMPETITION AUTHORITY IN THE ITALIAN LEGAL SYSTEM AND ITS RECENT MEASURES REGARDING TOURISM With the emergence of Directive 2015/2302/EU on package travel and its linked travel arrangements1, the “implementation of the ambitious reform and modernisation program of the European consumer contract law initiated by the Commission (...) at the beginning of the 2000s” was marked complete. Among the evidence of strengthening consumer protection laws, there is Directive 2005/29/EC concerning unfair commercial practices, Directive 2011/83/EU on consumer rights and Directive 2008/122/EC that delves into various aspects of multiple-ownership, long-term holidays and resale and exchange contracts.
