CROATIA | TATJANA JOSIPOVIĆ 97 In 2019, in terms of tourism intensity, Croatia ranked first according to the number of nights (22.4 nights) spent by residents and non-residents in tourist accommodation per inhabitant. There were 19.6 million tourist arrivals and 91.2 million tourist nights recorded in commercial accommodation establishments, which, compared to 2018, was an increase of 4.8% and 1.8%, respectively. On the one hand, domestic tourists accounted for 2.2 million arrivals and 7.1 million nights, increasing in arrivals 9.4% and in nights 9.6%, as compared to 2018. On the other hadns, foreign tourists realised 17.4 million arrivals and 84.1 million nights, which is 4.3% more arrivals and 1.2% more nights than in 2018. The arrivals (41%) ranked first, followed by overnights (49%) in private rooms7.
