If the aim of the RGPP was to reduce public spending, would it not be better to organise these competences by attributing them to only one (Atout France or the DGE) or at least optimise the objectives set for each? The last two CITs clearly give an increased role to Atout France. The emphasis is on promotion and investment. The idea is to mobilise all the players to work together on tourism and Atout France is clearly appointed as the conductor of this new organisation, which will perhaps finally put an end to the scattering of public and private funds. 1.2. General Competiveness Authority (DGE) 1.2.1. THE FUNCTIONING OF THE DGE Creation: the General competiveness authority replaced the DGCIS, which was created by the decree of 12 January 2009. The DGE was created by the decree of 15 September 2014. Purpose: the DGE is responsible for innovative economic sectors: digital, industry, entrepreneurship and tourism.
