A trade licence for the operation of this field of unqualified trade may be granted to anyone who meets the general conditions (clean criminal record and legal capacity), and no other prerequisites are required. Save for certain exceptions, this field of trade does not comprise the preparation and provision of meals. II.8. Catering Provider Food is inherently linked to tourism. According to the Trade Act, the preparation and serving of meals in a establishment is a professional trade, and its name is “inn-keeping activities”. A trade licence may be granted to anyone who meets the general conditions (clean criminal record and legal capacity) and the special conditions for operating this trade. These include the entrepreneurs having to appoint at least one “responsible representative”; someone who has attained education in the given field or related field and has experience in catering services. Within this trade, the operator may – along with the sale of food – also provide accommodation in all accommodation facilities (e.g. a hotel, motel, campsite, common lodging house) and residential buildings, private homes and structures for family recreation.
